The Buddha is believed to be the god of good fortune and the guardian of all children. Along the Silk Road in China, there were shrines of Buddha for people passing along the Silk Road to pray. People prayed to Buddha for good fortune. After they prayed, they left gifts thanking Buddha. Buddha is still very important today.
