This is the great wall of China (or at least a model of some of it!) If this is only a portion of the real thing ( but much smaller ) imagine how big it really is! It is over 3700ft. long Also it is one of the seven wonders of the world! (supposedly because it is so big...I mean how could they build it without modern equipment?) William |

Compasses Compasses move because of a force called magnetism.Magnetism was discovered by chinese alchemists during a walk in the woods, they reilized that magknetite, a type of Iron, always pointed in the same direction.their observation was the first step to modern compasses today.
