Putting a big book together takes a lot of pre-planning. First decide what part of the story will be on each page. (We did this together on large chart paper. Our Fourth Grade Buddies were then brought in to aide and assist the first grader). Let each first grader choose a page to write and illustrate from the book, Ox-Cart Man. You will need two sessions together with their buddies to illustrate the chosen page. Then laminate the pages and use a binder to complete the bound book. Sharing it with their Fourth Grade buddies and family members who come to visit will make it all worth while. It always means so much to see your own work in a finished product!
Making God's Eyes and Weaving are projects children may work on whenever they have extra time.
