The Story of Shadow

Characters:

Narrator It was noon, Shadow the owl was waiting for it to get darker. Then, he would fly off to hunt.
Shadow Finally, I can go. (flies off)
Narrator While he was flying he flies by a girl's house.
Nancy Hi!
Nancy My name is Nancy. What's yours?
Shadow Shadow.
Nancy Come in. There is better light in the house. There, I can see you better.
Shadow NO!!!
Narrator Shadow thinks he is ugly. He does not want anybody to see him in light.
Nancy Okay, we don't have to if you don't want to. (pause) So, what do you want to do?
Shadow (thinking fast) How about talking?
Nancy Sure...So...
Narrator They talked until Nancy had to go home.
Nancy I have to go home now. Come back tomorrow.
Narrator So Nancy went inside and Shadow went away. Shadow came back the next day and Nancy and Shadow talked for about an hour. The next day in the morning Nancy invited a friend over. Her name was Kristy. Nancy told Kristy all about her new friend "Shadow". Then Nancy got the greatest idea.
Nancy Hey! We can make a party for him to show him that we are his friends.
Kristy That's a great idea.
Narrator They planned the party. Kristy would play the drums and Nancy would serve the drinks.
Nancy I can not wait to tell him the news.
Shadow (Shadow flies back) Hi!
Nancy Hi! Guess what!
Shadow What?
Nancy Tomorrow I am giving you a party. Can you come?
Shadow Yes...Can I bring a friend?
Nancy Sure. Bye...see you tomorrow...
Narrator Shadow slept that day and woke up that night. He asked rooster his friend to come with him.
Shadow Do you want to come to the party?
Rooster Sure!
Shadow Okay...let's go.
Narrator So they went. When they were half way there Shadow said...
Shadow I forgot my hat. I am going to get it. You go on. I will be there soon.
Rooster Okay.
Narrator The reason Shadow wanted to go home was that he was nervous about Nancy seeing his face. After about half an hour Shadow returned with a hat on his face so no one would see it. He was scared that everybody would be mad at him because he was late.
Shadow (goes in)
Rooster, Nancy, and Kristy Surprise!!!
Narrator Shadow still had his face in the hat even though the lights were off. Shadow took Rooster in a corner.
Shadow Please can you tell me before the sun rises because I do not want anybody to see my face in the light.
Rooster Okay, I will try.
Narrator Time went by...By the time Rooster told Shadow it was morning, it was 8 o'clock. Rooster had so much fun he forgot to tell Shadow when it was before early morning. Shadow got so scared and angry he ran as fast as he could to get to the door.
Nancy Come back! Come back! Where are you going?
Narrator Shadow just ran and when he reached the door he went out and ran to his house. Rooster ran behind him.
Nancy and Kristy (puzzled) ???
Narrator Nobody knew what happened to Shadow that day because he never came back. Nancy kept wondering what happened to him. The real reason was that if Nancy or Kristy saw his face they would never like him.
