Bone Structure

All birds of prey have mostly the same anatomy with the same muscles and bone structure as any other bird of prey. Birds have mostly hollow bones but all living creatures including birds need a succesful blood circulation. Bone marrow ( which is what makes our bones heavy ) creates red blood cells needed for carrying vitamins to our organs. Birds have hollow bones, all of which lack marrow, except the two pairs of bones called the Femur and the Humerus which are shown on this page. Also on this page are other names for bones.
