John F. Kennedy, thirty-fifth President of the United States, was born in Brookline Massachusetts to a very politically active family, served in the US Navy as commander of a PT Boat during World War II and was assassinated in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. During his term as President he stopped the Russians from sending missiles to Cuba and then with Soviet Premier Krushchev signed the first treaty limiting nuclear weapons.
